• CancerCare Manitoba Foundation – Lemonade Stands for Hope is a free and fun way for enthusiastic change-makers to take action and make a difference. The program raises funds to support Manitobans with cancer and their families. The official Lemonade Stands for Hope weekend runs from July 19 – 21. BUT, we do encourage stands all summer long. Young Manitobans are encouraged to get creative and make their stand unique. Starter kits with lots of fun supplies are available for pick-up from the Foundation Events office at 825 Sherbrook St. (M-F, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) or can be mailed to those outside Winnipeg. All ages are welcome and it’s easy to participate. Simply register a stand to receive a free starter kit. Choose the date and location for your stand, and tell everyone you know. Getting involved in Lemonade Stands is easy even if you don’t want to host your own stand. You can visit a stand in your area or donate online to one. Every cup of lemonade sold funds vital research, enhances patient care, supports CancerCare Manitoba.

• Funds for Pets Rescue is a Winnipeg-based non-profit rescue organization founded in 2012. They are dedicated to helping stray animals in need, and have adoptables ranging from small to large, and young to old.Their mission is to assist animals in their care by providing temporary housing through their foster program until permanent, loving homes can be found. While in rescue, all pets receive complete vetting, quality food, and all other necessary supplies and support to become healthy, happy (adoptable) companions. Funds for Pets Rescue is run 100% by volunteers, and operates solely on donations and fundraising efforts.

• Agape Table’s mission is to “enhance the lives of those in need by welcoming everyone to our table, without judgment or bias, offering food, fellowship and support.” Agape Table provides more than 150,000 bagged meals every year to vulnerable and marginalized people in the inner city of Winnipeg. Agape Table embraces a non-judgmental, unbiased, and respectful attitude toward all who seek help. The word ‘Agape’ means ‘unconditional love’. Those who visit Agape Table need food assistance. All are hungry. All need and deserve help. No one is ever turned away!
